The Partnership for Affordable Housing (PAH) seeks to ensure access to safe and affordable housing through advocacy, education, and the development of housing resources in an ever-changing market. Our programs are designed to give individuals and families with limited financial resources the tools they need to find a home in Jefferson County.

Homebuyer Education Classes
Homebuyer education is required for some USDA, WVHDF mortgage loans and for homebuyer assistance programs. The class is also available to members of the general public interested in learning about the homebuying process and what to know before buying a home. Topics covered include: Are you ready to buy a home?; Managing your Money; Understanding Credit; Obtaining a Mortgage Loan; Shopping for a Home; and Protecting your Investment.
Classes are on the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (a half-hour for lunch) at the Ranson City Hall, third floor conference room, 312 S Mildred Street, Ranson, WV. The cost is $25 per person or couple. Classes for groups of four or more at other dates and times and en Español can be arranged by special request. Registration is required. (Class date is subject to change to meet minimum attendance requirement.)
Classes in Spanish: A special Homebuyer Education Class in Spanish can be scheduled, and One-on-one Credit Counseling in Spanish is available, by appointment.

"Understanding Credit and the Homebuying Process"
Are you unsure how to go about purchasing a home? Choose one of these one-night classes to learn how to increase your credit scores and establish or fix your credit. The steps in the homebuying process will be explained. These classes are free of charge as a service from Partnership for Affordable Housing.

Classes are taught by Rosa Eggleton. Ms. Eggleton is certified as a Housing Counselor in Pre-Purchase Homeownership Education (Homebuyer Education).
