PAH Reaches Out to Jefferson County Hispanic Community

reggleton-0715On June 25, 2015, PAH Housing Counselor Rosa Eggleton participated in the Mexican Consulate on Wheels Program at the BB&T Bank in Charles Town. The purpose of the event was to provide financial, banking, and medical information to Mexican citizens living in Jefferson County. Rosa met with the Mexican Consul; Lorena Nathan of the Jefferson County Health Department board; David Ramos, BB&T Regional Multicultural Banking Director; other BB&T employees; and the public to present PAH programs and services. Rosa reports that attendees were impressed with PAH’s services.

On March 26, Rosa gave a short homebuyer seminar to the Hispanic congregation at Casa de Adoracion Iglesia Promesa de Dios in Ranson. On April 11, she hosted a Spanish homebuyer seminar at the Community Ministries building in Charles Town.

Rosa was born in New York and moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 12. She holds a bachelors degree in social work and a West Virginia teaching license, and is a Certified Housing Counselor. She recently obtained professional certifications in Basic Foreclosure, Lending Basics for Homeownership Counselors, Pre-Purchase Homeownership Education, and Credit Counseling for Maximum Results. She is also an approved Adopter of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education. She teaches PAH’s Homebuyer Education classes and provides homebuyer credit counseling and foreclosure prevention counseling. All Rosa’s services can be provided in Spanish upon request.
